Old news but...I'VE PASSED FIRST YEAR POST-GRAD MED!!!!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Actually the most amazing feeling ever, because I felt so shit in the lead up and during exams. And I had no motivation, and just couldn't be bothered studying. So went in feeling like I knew nothing. This just proves it...ANYONE CAN DO MEDICINE!!! Ha.

But the way I got my results back was pretty ridiculous. Like actually homage to the name of my blog...truly tragic. We were told to check online for our results, and when I did, I saw I got a big fat F. And I was expecting it. Because I KNEW NOTHING!!!! But at the same time I felt pretty disappointed. So I sent an email to the first year coordinator, asking what sections I failed, so I would know what to study for the supp mid-January. She replied saying I would get an email from the faculty within 24 hours regarding it.

Mount Lofty - feeling a bit sporty

I just went on a hike up Mt Lofty, the hightest peak in Adelaide. It is a mecca for all anyone who wants a bit of a heartbeat-raising work out. I used to do Lofty once a week for a year at one point, but if you're like me and wake up really late in the afternoon, you will be hard pressed to find a good parking spot, and the sun is usually beating down and makes you hot by midday. The best time to go is early morning, in the crisp air. I use to go at around 7 am, and be down by 815-830 am to have a nice breakfast and be pumped for the rest of the day.

This Lofty hike was the first one in a bit over a year. I was scared because despite going for jogs and doing blogilates videos, Lofty is a monster and can make you feel very very unfit. I had a great friend come up this time with me, and most of the way up, we just had great chats and caught up. Except, there are some bits of the hike that make you really breathless, and all you can do is focus on continuing up the steep slope.

Starting at the bottom at Waterfall Gully, there are a few other trails that aren't as taxing as the main Lofty walk, and is definitely appropriate for those that are less fit, and also for those who want a scenic walk.

Halfway through our walk, we encountered a very cute young kangaroo! It was the most adorable thing. It let us get close enough to take a few photos and gush over it. Haha. The wildlife is just so great up at Lofty. We saw some very beautiful birds. Along the way, I felt like I was in the woods of the arena of the first Hunger Games film. All I needed was a bow and arrow, and could have been mistaken for Katniss.

EVERYONE SHOULD GO DO LOFTY!!! It's fantastic, you are immersed in wildlife, and when you finally make it to the top, you get to see the whole of Adelaide and it's gorgeous.

Thor: The Dark World...a fangirling session

I've been a bit slack with blog material over the past week because I'm literally living in a blur of sleep, catching up on tv shows, facebook stalking, and some sneaky drinks. Hopefully, I'll get to do some exciting things with my life that I can blog about :)

A few days ago, I finally got around to watching Thor: The Dark World. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!! If you have yet to watch it, it's a definite must. I was casually starting conversation with someone yesterday, and it turns out they haven't seen a single Marvel film. WHAT?! Ha. I would recommend seeing Thor and The Avengers before seeing this instalment, as it is quite fast paced, and would definitely be helpful in understanding why Loki was locked up. Oops, I should warn people that there might be a few spoilers in the following fangirling section.

I watch Marvel films for this guy...Hiddles
