TWO MORE DAYS UNTIL THE BEST WEEK OF THE YEAR ARRIVES!!!!!
I cannot wait. I'm getting butterflies in my stomach from excitement. I'm currently sitting in an AMSA Council session, and it's so exciting knowing everyone here is also going to be at convention next week, being outrageous, in costumes, and getting cruuuunk. #adelaide2014 is going to go off. Watch out people of Adelaide, med students are going to run the town for a week!

Exploring Adelaide: fitness and caffeine fix
Today, I went on the most magical walk with my med uni friend Blade (check her blog out!). I stumbled upon this amazing walk last week by accident, and I literally do not want to go for walks anywhere else! I also had to share this with someone.
It's called the River Torrens Linear Park trail. The trail starts in town in Elder Park, and extends all the way to Henley Beach. We took a shorter route and parked our cars at Lockleys Oval, walking the 2 kilometres to Henley Beach. It was so tranquil, and just super fab. Although we walked along at a very casual pace, we still finished the walk 4 kilometres later feeling fit and healthy. The weather back home near town was dreary, with black clouds and a chance of rain, however down near the bay, it was clear and sunny!
After our walk, we went to the most amazing little coffee joint! It's called Coffee By The Beans. THEIR COFFEE IS SO FANTASTIC!!!! The best I've ever had. Blade and I indulged in iced coffees. So much deliciousness. Definitely go check it out if you're ever in the Lockleys area.

So much joy!
I met the one of my obsessions and loves of my life on Thursday night. I had seen him once before in February, but this was a millions times better because it was intimate, and I was less than a metre away from him for an hour, and got into gaze into his eyes for the same amount of time as he serenaded me.
I am talking about James Keogh aka Vance Joy, one of the most talented and gorgeous music talents in Australia. This guy has it all. He is charismatic, funny, tells a good anecdote, has mad guitar skills, writes sentimental lyrics, and a voice that makes me never want to listen to any other artist ever again.

Laneway 2014
Friday has to be one of the best days of my life. OF MY LIFE! It was my second Laneway experience, and I had no idea how it was going to top last year. However, it definitely did. The line-up was amazing, the company I had was fantastic, and the atmosphere at Hart's Mill in Port Adelaide was absolutely phenomenal.
With a plan in mind, armed with sunscreen and bottles of water, and the patience to stand 9 hours in the same spot, we were in for a good time. Here are some of the acts and highlights of the day:

Mount Lofty - feeling a bit sporty
I just went on a hike up Mt Lofty, the hightest peak in Adelaide. It is a mecca for all anyone who wants a bit of a heartbeat-raising work out. I used to do Lofty once a week for a year at one point, but if you're like me and wake up really late in the afternoon, you will be hard pressed to find a good parking spot, and the sun is usually beating down and makes you hot by midday. The best time to go is early morning, in the crisp air. I use to go at around 7 am, and be down by 815-830 am to have a nice breakfast and be pumped for the rest of the day.
This Lofty hike was the first one in a bit over a year. I was scared because despite going for jogs and doing blogilates videos, Lofty is a monster and can make you feel very very unfit. I had a great friend come up this time with me, and most of the way up, we just had great chats and caught up. Except, there are some bits of the hike that make you really breathless, and all you can do is focus on continuing up the steep slope.
Starting at the bottom at Waterfall Gully, there are a few other trails that aren't as taxing as the main Lofty walk, and is definitely appropriate for those that are less fit, and also for those who want a scenic walk.
Halfway through our walk, we encountered a very cute young kangaroo! It was the most adorable thing. It let us get close enough to take a few photos and gush over it. Haha. The wildlife is just so great up at Lofty. We saw some very beautiful birds. Along the way, I felt like I was in the woods of the arena of the first Hunger Games film. All I needed was a bow and arrow, and could have been mistaken for Katniss.
EVERYONE SHOULD GO DO LOFTY!!! It's fantastic, you are immersed in wildlife, and when you finally make it to the top, you get to see the whole of Adelaide and it's gorgeous.
